Dentist
Allegra Darwood graduated with distinction from the University of Bristol in 2022 and has since gained experience across both general dental practice and hospital settings, developing an interest in oral surgery and restorative dentistry.
Her postgraduate training has taken her to the Royal London Hospital and the Edinburgh Dental Institute, where she has experience in complex surgical extractions, oral biopsies, dental trauma and the management of patients requiring multidisciplinary care. She has also gained experience assisting in major maxillofacial procedures and providing restorative treatment for patients following cancer surgery.
With a particular appreciation for surgical and implant dentistry, Allegra is currently undertaking an MSc in Dental Implantology at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, alongside a Postgraduate Certificate in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry with Aspire. She is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Committed to ongoing professional development, she strives to bring together the latest techniques and evidence-based approaches to deliver thoughtful, personalised care.
Alongside her clinical work, Allegra has published first-author papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented her findings both in the UK and internationally.
Allegra is approachable and empathetic. She takes the time to listen to her patients, understand their individual concerns and ensure they feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. She particularly enjoys the balance of technical precision, problem-solving and personal connection that dentistry offers.
Outside of dentistry, Allegra enjoys cooking, travelling, weightlifting, theatre and wheel-thrown ceramics.
